Bad condition properties just don’t sell

Spread the love

I am pleased to say that I have helped many homeowners sell their home over the years. This experience in selling homes is vital in the current market and climate. Selling your home can be challenging, but I have operated through difficult times in the market in the past, and I know what it takes to sell homes in the current economic and political climate.

Even with rising house prices, Brexit and many other matters that impact on the property market, people still want to buy homes. This is great news for vendors but even though there is a level of demand for property, it doesn’t mean that homeowners should assume that they will sell their home quickly or for their intended price.

Home truths can help sell your house

Selling homes today isn’t easy and sometimes it takes a few home truths to sell a home. Bad condition properties just don’t sell. There have been some articles which suggest buyers are looking for properties they can fix-up, but in reality, this isn’t the case. When a buyer is paying a significant sum of money to buy a home, they want to buy a property that is in excellent condition. Therefore, if you want to sell your home, you need to put the time and effort it.

You would think that given the importance of selling your home, vendors would be willing to do whatever it takes (within reason) to sell their home. Sadly, this isn’t the case. I had a client who didn’t want to do any work to her property at all, placing no interest in the property. A good estate agent will always do their best to sell a home but in a challenging market, buyers are looking for value before they agree to purchase a property.

The home had been on the market for over a year and it hasn’t sold. At this point, you would think that the vendor would be willing to try something different to sell their home, but no. Even though your home is special to you and you will have many happy memories there, you need to trust the expert when it comes to selling your home.

An estate agent will do their best to help you sell your home

If you are keen to sell your home effectively, you should listen to the advice of the agent, this is the case for all vendors.

I am delighted to say that I have helped many clients sell their home and I have worked with some lovely clients. Most vendors are looking for help from experts in selling their home and they have been willing to undertake work and carry out my recommendations. These vendors have sold their home.

You don’t need to become best friends with your estate agent, but you should respect them and take their advice. If you’re looking to sell your home in London, I am here to help you and I look forward to making the difference in selling your home.
